2024: Year in review
This year was amazing on all fronts, I want to look back.
Professionally
- I kept working on Saturday Quiz Time, learned a lot and had fun
- My Legis Music contract ended, but I’m proud of what I achieved in a year
- I earned money from Open-Source for the first time, by working on Astro as a core maintainer
- I started working for Seibert Group at the end of the year, with some unique challenges
- I took more holidays, but still less than I should. Area of improvement for 2025!
Open-Source
- At the end of 2023, I decided to invest more time and energy in Astro. I think it showed:
- I created astro-integration-kit to help build integrations. It’s now one of the most Astro related downloaded NPM packages
- I created astro-integration-template which helped people ship dozens of integrations this year (Improvements coming soon!)
- I made many integrations and packages, including astro-loading-indicator and astro-typed-links
- I found out maintaining all of those is hard, and calmed down a bit
- Astrolicious and astro-tips
- I championed the
astro:env
RFC and contributed this big feature to Astro, which was released as stable in 5.0 - I became an Astro core maintainer and helped maintaing the framework
- I met some of the Astro core team at the Dublin off-site
Personal life
- I moved back to France from Valencia (Spain)
- I improved my English level thanks to the many Astro calls
- I started running
There’s more I must be forgetting, but the list is big enough already! Looking forward to 2025!
